2007 winners listed for Gift from Mother Earth
Native American & Western Art Show

CRAZY HORSE MEMORIAL – Black Hills area artists, along with contestants from Arizona, Colorado and Ecuador, won honors at the 17th annual “A Gift from Mother Earth” Native American & Western Art Show.

The show opened Friday, June 15, 2007, and entries will be exhibited throughout the weekend at Crazy Horse Memorial. There are 24 participants offering custom-made clothing, jewelry and other items for sale.

    The 2007 Gift from Mother Earth contest categories and winners included:

Beadwork:  1. Michael He Crow, Rapid City, “beaded moccasins”; 2. Helen Walker, Tuba City, AZ, “beaded necklace”; 3. Ana Lema, Ecuador, “horse.”

Crafts: 1. Franklin Wilson, Cameron, AZ, “rawhide rattle”; 2. Deb Burchhard, Rapid City, “vase”; 3. Orlando Palmino, Fort Collins, CO, “ocarino.”

Jewelry: 1. Carol Hatathle, Tuba City, AZ, “sterling bracelet”; 2. Helen Walker, Tuba City, AZ, “bracelet”; 3. Lorri Ann Two Bulls, Red Shirt Table, “ceramic eagle beads.”
